The urge to create this post came from a voice in my head; I hear the late Dr. Wayne Dyer saying “you can’t get poor enough to help anyone else.”
I took that head voice as a call from the universe to share with you today, the reasons why any inner blocks to abundance of money, love, health, happiness and creativity must be dis-integrated.
I’m flipping Dyer’s adage to a more positive ring by stating it as, your wealth helps heal the planet. That seems like an important clarification, especially for those who struggle with mixing spirituality with what seems to be an “earthly notion” of money.
Indeed, poverty, lack, scarcity, low-frequency fear-based thinking that feeds emotions of there never being “enough” are the stuff of fools. They help no one.
Winged-Women™ Business and Life Coaching has a set of written tenets that outline, among other clarifications, the specific outcome for each individual participant in any coaching service includes being held to a level of accountability which includes personal finance. In other words, if a client says something akin to “I can’t afford Fill in the blank” she immediately gets a new lesson plan that includes her inner dialog shifting out of victim mode and into empowered knowing that she creates her life.
That may sound mean. It is not mean. It is empowering. Self-Love demands a certain level of personal care and security that must be taken care of before the next steps towards self-realization and enlightenment can occur. And so, we hold our clients to a standard of self-care that includes stepping out from past mire of scarcity and into the light of abundance. Our manifesto is that everyone deserves to thrive.
Your natural state is that of abundance. No one’s natural state is that of lack. No one. Scarcity is a learned behavior. And it affects every area of your life. If it affects you, it’s time to unlearn it. It’s time to shift the perspective, because in matters of love and money, you don’t manifest what you want, you manifest what you believe you are worthy of. This is why self-worth is at the core of everything offered on this Winged-Women™ website. Everything here has roots in self-worth because self-worth takes root in every area of your life.
A basic lesson of psychology includes awareness of Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, a theory in psychology proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper, “The Theory of Human Motivation” in Psychological Review. The theory says we must complete basic steps before we can “self-actualize.” Nothing can be left out, and in fact, Maslow refined his theory by adding a layer of innate human curiosity. Being curious is a step towards self-actualization, as we must be curious about our potential in order to seek the best version of our “self”.
In other words, basic needs such as shelter and food are the first order of growth.
The next necessary level is safety/security.
And then we can talk about love and acceptance, and notions of self-esteem and being esteemed.
And finally, we can achieve a level of beingness outside of what we could have ever perceived without our other psychological needs having been met.
But only then.
- When you consider the graphic, where do you see yourself currently?
- Where are there any blocks on your personal evolution?
Notice that “money” doesn’t appear anywhere on Maslow’s Hierarchy, or, it appears throughout the entire ladder, starting with basic physiological needs like food, air, water, rest, etc.
Do you think you can climb this ladder with one foot in scarcity and the other reaching the next rung towards abundance of, as example, love and belonging? I’m sure you cannot.
At this point, someone is bound to bring up stories of Mother Teresa’s vow of poverty as an example of being both spiritually evolve and living in poverty….
Consider this: Mother Teresa earned MILLIONS of dollars with which to empower millions by helping take care of that first level on Maslow’s Hierarchy. Proof again, that your wealth helps heal the planet. And in case you need it, this is your external permission to allow yourself to be wealthy and spiritual, if you like.
So back to Wayne Dyer in my head…
Dyer’s words are the truth of this post. You cannot get poor enough to help anyone else. And you can lift the vibration of an entire universe when you break free of any blocks to your birthright of abundance of money, love, happiness, health, and of all the glorious forms that abundance can take.
