To celebrate International Women’s Day, it has been requested that we strike. When women stop, the world stops and takes notice. As such, I will be dark all day, with the exception of wearing red, and spending the day with myself. As I mentioned a few days ago in another blog post, I will be reflecting on the women who have died fighting for equality. I will be focused on the ancestral strengths of my lineage, and I will be journaling and reading books that speak to the uprising of the feminine spirit.
I am truly proud to be an assertive, powerful woman who helps other women to own their voices, and by doing so, to own their subjective lives. It seems odd to me, that after all these decades we are still in the infancy stages of uprising into our feminine power. The old paradigm has grown fangs and told lies and “grabbed pussy” at a time in history, when women have become to collaborate, to cooperate with each other, to learn to love and trust one another, and to own our power to create change using feminine power principles and not through hate and fear-mongering and force. Our collective uprising is the force of love, of nurturing each other, of camaraderie as opposed to competition. And I truly believe, the world is better off when we rise into the her-story of our own private struggles and triumphs. We are women. We are the care-givers, the mothers of the children, the lovers, and the wives, daughters, sisters, and are the voice of sanity when things goes off kilter. We matter.
As a woman, it is my deepest desire, to empower other women to learn to love every facet, and to become the role models to teach our sons and daughters to love and respect each other and the world regardless of race, religion, and perceived differences. We are each perfectly human. And when we feel self-love, there is no need for competition and hate. There is acceptance of diversity for the gifts each culture brings.
To help bring more of that feminine wisdom to the surface, I’ve gathered a few quotes from women about women, and if you read to the page bottom, you will also see that I have added an Amazon link to a beautiful collection of Inspiring Words for Reflection, a book that is ideal for days like International Women’s Day, when we just want to feel inspired, by being in spirit.
The truth is, I don’t know that anyone will take notice if I strike. I am a single woman, with my Winged-Women™ business to tend to, so if I don’t leave the house, and don’t do for others, well, not many will notice. But if we ALL take a stand to be seen, by being missing, well that’s a ripple I am excited to witness. And I hope you’ll join in. Because together, we can make ripples into huge change waves. And more than perhaps ever before, we must own our feminine powers, stand up, and claim our right to be, simply as WE decide to BE.
